Dendrobium loddigesii

17/05 - What’s new in May?
This months orchid in the picture: Dendrobium loddigesii

This little cute lovely orchid from Laos, Vietnam and southwestern parts of China is highly recommended for any beginning orchid collector. It blooms from February to June after a dry cool rest in winter. Several to many flowers appear on the leafless pseudobulbs and last for 4 to 6 weeks. The beautiful hairy and heart shaped lip is very attractive. The flowers spread a soft sweet scent.
